New Hampshire Has Stricter Cinderella Law
Many states allow a "Hardship License" to be issued to those convicted (usually on their first offense) of a DUI. These licenses generally allow a twelve hour window during the day for an individual to drive so they may work. New Hampshire has made this license a little more difficult to get.
First, you must have your driving privileges suspended completely for 45 days before the state will issue their limited driving privilege license. Then, you must have an Alcohol Interlock Device installed on your vehicle. This is basically a breathalyzer that you must blow into before the car will start to ensure that you have no alcohol in your bloodstream.
Remember, never drive under the influence of any substance, especially since society is becoming increasingly intolerant of this type of behavior and is imposing ever harsher punishments for those who transgress DUI laws.
