Innocent is Not
Many people believe they can hire a great lawyer and "beat the rap." That may or may not be true, and even if the best lawyer on the planet can get your case dismissed is not cause to offend the law in the first place. What most people don't realize is that, even if you are found Not Guilty, the charges that had been brought against you are still on your criminal record and are still able to be discovered as part of a background check. In fact, most people who review criminal records, upon seeing charges, will, in their mind reflect and assume he got away with it. Whether or not the judicial system punishes you for violating the law, does not mean that those in society will or will not punish you. Let's say you and another are applying for a job. You have a DUI charge that was dropped, the other applicant has a clean record. If you are the HR director, who are you going to select, all other things being equal? Remember, never operate a vehicle if you are under the influence of any substance.
